A surprise birthday present for my good buddy, ~TheNekow!
Sonja Red, the she-devil with a sword, from Marvel Comics / Conan the Barbarian!! Hope you like it, bud!!!
Now, shh! His birthday isn't technically until the 18th of January, so I'm just going to post it now, hoping he'll stumble across it by accident, later! Either way, not a huge deal if he finds it now.
I owe him for some pretty sweet birthday gift art in the past, so hopefully this makes up for at least some of the sheer awesomeness he's given me.

Technique ImpactWell, last day of this premium means I should PROBABLY write at least one critique with it. And to that end... have my first critique! Possibly my only one depending on how lazy I feel.
Anyway, let's get down to business
Sab's classic pinups go medieval! Pinups come as no surprise to anyone who frequents your gallery, but it's always a nice change of pace to see said pinups get a new 'theme' to keep them varied. And nothing makes a girl pinup stand out amongst the rest like being atop a slain dragon!
It's not only the theme that contrasts it from your other pinups though, but also the composition. It tends to be rather rare for you to exclusively use warm colors. The strong reds, oranges, and browns do set it apart from your other works, even with just so much as a glance.
That said, it's not without a few (minor) issues. The one thing that stands out the most is the lining; specifically, on Sonja. Some of the lines look quite a bit rougher than others, such as around her stomach, and legs. In addition, the sword, aside from one side of the blade, looks as though it's without lines. While this isn't necessarily a bad thing by any means, the fact that it's right next to a girl who's got such thick lines does clash a slight bit. The crows in the background also look a bit... out of place? I can't quite put my finger on why, though. Might just be because they stand out from being so "black" against the orange sky.
Anyway, none of these things are enough to take away from the pic as a whole, of course. It's still got quite the sex appeal factor (I guess that's how impractical female armor protects against people? They're too busy staring? IDK), and the slain dragon does give it a more "badass" feel about it. Her expression seems to add to that feel as well; it seems like she doesn't really give a shit that she just killed something many times her size.
Overall, it's a nice twist on the classic pinup, and definitely a solid birthday present! Great work as usual!
